How to use the online scorekeeper
Use this page as the operating manual for Table Scorekeeper: player count, quick deltas, custom Apply, Undo, rounds, target score, rematch, and print/copy.
Workflow
- Tap +1, +5, +10, or −1 on a row after each scoring event. That player’s score updates immediately and the status line may show Leader or Winner when target rules apply.
- Enter a custom delta and press Apply for clue values or penalties not covered by quick buttons. The typed value adds once; clear the field before the next custom entry to avoid mistakes.
- Press Undo in Options if the last change was wrong. The previous chronological adjustment is reversed—only one step per press.
- Type a Round note (optional) and press Next round between phases. Round counter increments and your note is stored with that round transition.
- Use Rematch to zero scores while keeping names and target, or New game (confirm) to reset names too. Rematch announces scores zeroed; New game rebuilds default player labels unless you re-edit them.
- Print or Copy summary when the night ends. You get a text snapshot with round, each name/score line, and target if set.
Worked examples
- Fast board-game round: Keep Players at four, use +1 and +5 during a short card game, Undo a mis-tap, then Next round without notes when you advance the physical board.
- Race to 50: Set Target score (optional) to 50. When someone crosses it, the pad highlights winners—house rules still decide ties the tool does not break.
- Quiz-style penalties: Enter −200 in custom delta and Apply on a contestant row after a wrong answer; add a Round note explaining the penalty for your own records.
Before you roll
Set Players (2–10) in Options and rename each row on the scoreboard—team names work the same as people.
Optionally set Target score (optional) when your game ends at a fixed point total; leave None for open-ended tracking.
Decide whether one phone is the official pad; scores do not sync across devices automatically.
Use Show options on mobile when you need Undo, New game, Rematch, Print, or Shuffle turn order.
If something looks wrong
If Apply seems to do nothing, check that the custom field is a non-zero finite number.
If Undo is unavailable, there may be no prior change in the undo stack for this session.
If leader highlighting looks wrong, verify Target score (optional)—open-ended games do not mark winners.
If an old class game reloads on a shared iPad, start New game or clear site data between groups.
Mobile and keyboard notes
Quick score buttons are large touch targets along each player row.
Custom delta fields use inputMode numeric; Apply is next to each row.
Show options / Hide options keeps the scoreboard visible on phones during play.
Live region announcements confirm player count changes and major actions like Rematch.
